amount of polyurea on the orange dot, and the other immediately putting steel fastening plates into the wet coating.
After completing the process
300 times, a crewmember
drilled through the center of
the deck plates and drove a
spike anchor into the concrete, giving it holding
power. The debris from drilling the holes had
to be vacuumed and all the areas were cleaned
with acetone. Finally, polyurea was applied over
the newly fastened deck plates.
“We could’ve gotten by with less, but we wanted
to do it properly,” said Wagoner. “While you’re at
it, you might as well do it right.”
